360Giving Workshops

We run workshops to increase confidence, knowledge and skills using data.

Workshops

360Giving workshops are informal learning sessions which are designed to increase your confidence, knowledge and skills in using data and to grow your understanding of 360Giving’s tools and publishing process.

Our online workshops are for non-experts. They are intended to be a safe learning environment for people of all abilities, whether you are totally new to data or want to brush up on your existing skills.

Next steps: Publishing grants to organisations

Cost: Free

This workshop focuses in detail on the the practical steps of publishing 360Giving data on grants to organisations, whether you are sharing data for the first time or making updates to existing data.

Featuring a mixture of guidance, how-to demos and Q&A the session covers the key things you need to know to get started on preparing and sharing 360Giving data. Topics covered include field guidance, top tips for using Excel to transform data, using the Data Quality Tool and guidance on publishing and updating 360Giving data files.

This workshop is best for grantmakers who have attended an Introduction to Publishing workshop, as well as those taking over responsibility for publishing in their organisation. It is primarily for those sharing data on grants to organisations, rather than grants to individuals and families.

4th December, 10:30am – 12:00pm

Introduction to the DEI Data Standard

Cost: Free

In 2020, 360Giving started work with the DEI Data Group to create the DEI Data Standard, a shared taxonomy and approach to support funders to understand the equity of their grantmaking.

This workshop will introduce you to the DEI Data Standard, give background on why and how it was developed and outline the options for implementation. We’ll then explore how funders can approach collecting DEI Data Standard data about their grants and the next steps if they want to share the data collected using this framework using the 360Giving Data Standard.

There will be time for questions throughout the workshop and a Q&A at the end, but for those with any further questions we will be staying on for a further 15 minutes after the session ends.

This session is designed for UK funders wanting to learn more about the DEI Data Standard and how they can start collecting equity data.

11th December, 10:30am – 12:00pm
