Code of Conduct
360Giving is committed to hosting welcoming and safe events as part of our work with the grantmaking, civil society and open data sectors.
We put on a range of events for funders and those interested in open grants data, including workshops and meetups that focus on supporting people to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence using data, and to grow connections with peers.
We are committed to creating a safe and supportive space for all of our speakers and attendees, where people feel able to join in the conversation and share their knowledge and ideas, and feel comfortable and respected whilst doing so. Our Code of Conduct outlines what you can expect from us when you come to one of our events – either online or in person – and what we expect of you when you attend.
What you can expect from us
Everyone is welcome at 360Giving events, regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, ethnicity, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, religion, class, appearance or experience. We will act promptly in response to any allegations of harassment or discriminatory behaviour towards any person who attends a 360Giving event.
What we expect from you
- Let us know if something makes you uncomfortable, or if you notice that another participant may be uncomfortable.
- Listen with an open mind. We ask that you are mindful of other people’s experiences and uniqueness and commit to making everyone welcome when you attend our events.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing comments or behaviour towards another attendee or speaker. As part of this, we expect attendees to respect people’s pronouns.
- To provide an inclusive environment for speakers and attendees, and to encourage open discussion, we do not record our online events, unless clearly stated in advance.
- As people are often working from home, we ask that you respect people’s privacy. As such, please do not screenshot, take photos or record sessions.
- Do not use the online chat function inappropriately, this includes:
- Use of expletives/swearing.
- Sharing links to commercial products/services/advertising.
- Do not use the chat to have conversations not intended for the entire group.
Committing to hosting harassment free events
360Giving is committed to hosting harassment-free events. Violations of our Code of Conduct will be dealt with promptly and action will be taken against anyone who engages in unacceptable behaviour. This can include expulsion from the event (with no refund, if a fee was paid) and from participation in future events. Participants asked to stop any inappropriate behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
If you have any concerns, feel unwelcome or need assistance, or notice that someone else needs assistance, please contact the host during the event via private Zoom chat or in-person, or contact feedback@threesixtygiving.org to report a complaint.
If for any reason you are unable to do so at the time of the incident, please contact 360Giving as soon as you can and provide details of what happened and who was involved. All reports will remain completely confidential.
After submitting a complaint, the Chief Executive will review it and will respond directly or where necessary identify the best person to investigate the circumstances leading to the complaint. We will communicate the results of the investigation to you within 20 working days of the complaint being received. You can find our Complaints Policy here.
Our Code of Conduct is written with our values and DEI approach at heart. We look forward to welcoming you to our events.
